If we focus on the specs, Yes, the specs of the G705 are nothing innovative, but this mouse isn’t all about performance. The G705 is all about feel and aesthetics.
From the matte white shell to the clean-looking stock lighting and the size of the mouse itself, the G705 is a mouse that pays more attention to how it feels in your hand and looks on your desk than to performance alone. The G705 has a long battery life (40-hr with lighting), so you’ll only charge it once a week.
Gaming Performance
While it may not look like a gaming mouse, the G705 is a gaming-grade wireless mouse. As mentioned, the specs aren’t spectacular and honestly under-scale for this price point. However, it didn’t affect our game performance across several titles, including Final Fantasy XIV and CS:GO.
Lightspeed wireless keeps things nice and sharp, with no glaring input lags on the G705. Its wireless features keep your desk nice and tidy while still managing the game. If it’s gaming performance you’re after, you should look at one of the best gaming mice, all of which will perform far better in gaming scenarios than the G705.
The form factor allows you to hold the mouse in a few different ways, but for this one, we found that the claw grip worked best in our tests. Size may be an issue for those with larger hands, so you may need to look for alternatives.
