The G715 feels pretty solid. The keyboard is housed in a sturdy plastic chassis with rounded corners and two flip-out feet on the back for tilt adjustment. The G715 has dimensions of 14.6 x 6.2 inches and weighs 987 g. The keyboard has a TKL layout with media keys, a volume roller, and buttons for switching connections, game modes, and adjusting brightness.
The clicky switch is excellent for typing but feels lacking for gaming, especially when speed is your priority. Hardcore gamers may have to choose a different type of switch. But the core of the Aurora Collection is inclusivity. Not everyone fits the stereotype of performance-driven and speed-hungry gaming.
Keyboard Advantages
The Logitech G715 does have a gaming mode, which can be toggled on and off using the game mode button at the top of the keyboard. You can customize the game mode further by disabling additional buttons in Logitech’s G HUB software.
The G715’s battery lasts up to 25 hours of use (according to Logitech). The figures are relatively accurate; we’ve spent the last five hours using this keyboard from a full charge, with all the brightest lighting. G HUB estimates about 81 percent, or 19 hours, remaining.
The Logitech G715 is an attractive wireless keyboard. It is well-built and offers quite a pleasant typing experience. Sturdy, textured materials, double-shot PBT keycaps, and gorgeous lighting give it an overall premium feel. However, we prefer a different color option.
The G715 retails for $200. This price isn’t necessarily surprising (the Logitech G915 TKL has the same price). Still, it’s noticeably more expensive because the G715 is far from perfect:
- Most keys are non-programmable and have only one Bluetooth profile.
- The switches are not interchangeable.
- The battery life is average.
